Structured Software Solutions, Inc. Again Named to Fast Tech 50

May, 1996
FacetCorp, (Plano, TX USA), announces the release of FacetWin Version 1.1. FacetWin provides a complete solution for Windows®95 and Windows NT™ to UNIX® integration, including transparent file & print services, terminal emulation, PC backup/restore, email & modem servers and remote computing support. FacetWin Version 1.1 is immediately available and includes enhanced server and terminal emulator features (see attached feature summary). FacetWin differs from existing connectivity alternatives in several ways. First, FacetCorp based the file and print services in FacetWin upon the Common Internet File System (CIFS) formerly known as SMB. This is the primary system that Microsoft Windows uses for networking PCs. Most other connectivity products use the UNIX-oriented Network File System (NFS) method of loading NFS software on the PC to enable it as a UNIX NFS client. Instead, FacetWin provides a UNIX CIFS server, that requires no additional software to be loaded on the PC to get completely transparent file and print services. CIFS was chosen for FacetWin because it is very easy to install and administer (since FacetWin administration can take place from the UNIX server), and because of its good performance. The only part of FacetWin to run on the PC is the terminal emulator, which was designed as a native 32-bit application for Windows 95 or NT. In creating the terminal emulator, FacetCorp was able to leverage the terminal emulation technology in FacetTerm, the company's award winning multi-session product. Market responsiveness to FacetWin has been remarkably positive since the product was first released in July 1996 with thousands of users worldwide. The FacetWin customer list includes such names as: Carnegie Mellon University, Computer Associates, IBM Corporation, JP Morgan, Penske Auto Centers, Royal Crown Bottling, Southwestern Bell and State Farm Insurance. These users, and many more, are enjoying the benefits of the feature rich FacetWin product. FacetWin Version 1.1 is immediately available for ordering and shipment. This is a point release and is available free of charge to existing licensed users, as is technical support. Any FacetWin licensed customer may download and use this version without re-registering the software. Pricing remains at $195 (U.S.) for a single user license of FacetWin with additional multi-user discounts. FacetCorp also offers a free, no obligation, 30-day evaluation copy of FacetWin. FacetWin Version 1.1 is available to download at www.facetcorp.com. _______________________ Originally founded in 1979 as Structured Software Solutions, Inc. (SSSI), FacetCorp is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the privately held company. Located in Plano, Texas, USA, FacetCorp develops software productivity applications that enable users of personal computers and low cost character terminals to take advantage of UNIX-based host computers. -End- Structured Software Solutions, Inc. (SSSI, Plano, TX.), has been named to the Fast Tech 50 for a second consecutive year. The Fast Tech 50 is a ranking list of the 50 fastest-growing high-tech companies in the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex based on yearly revenue growth. SSSI retained its position on the list by posting 1995 growth of 33.4% over 1994 sales. This follows the 50.2% growth rate in 1994 that triggered the company's initial entry on the list.

Compiled by the Dallas Business Journal and Arthur Andersen & Co., Fast Tech 50 recognizes fast growth companies in the high-tech industry. To compile the list, Arthur Andersen surveyed more than 500 North Texas high-tech companies.

Structured Software Solutions, Inc. is comprised of two operating divisions, FacetCorp, which develops software applications that enable desktop personal computers and low-cost terminals to access and run programs on UNIX-based servers. The Structured Software Services Group, provides contract engineering services throughout the region.

"The company was divided into two operating divisions in February of 1996 as a direct result of our growth over the prior three years," said Jim Bryant, President of FacetCorp and Chief Executive Officer of SSSI. "Both divisions reached a size that required them to have more focused management and administrative support staffs. With that focus now in place, we fully expect to continue on this list for years to come."
